Health & Wellness
Englewood Schools believes that we can only maintain our “Belong and Thrive,” if we are in our best health possible. Research has illustrated time and again that good cardiovascular health strongly correlates to improved performance in math, reading, and other subjects, and that having sound nutrition enables students to concentrate better and learn more.At Bishop we are united with the district in nutrition and health services. To learn more please take a look at the district website linked below. This website has nutrition guidelines, the wellness policy, resources, and pre- payment options. Health and Wellness Team
Bishop Wellness is led by our very own Ms. M (our PE teacher). Ms. M loves to build healthy habits with our students. She models good fitness, holds before and after school clubs, and encourages all students to take risks by trying a new fruit or vegetable or exercise. Ms. M also leads our staff wellness team. This last year, we had weekly walks and kickball games. She is an out of the box thinker and your students will always have stories from their learning in PE.
The Child Nutrition and WIC Reauthorization Act of 2004 mandated that school districts participating in any federally reimbursed school meal programs develop a local school wellness policy by the beginning of the 2006–07 school year, and that this policy must be reviewed regularly by a district wellness committee. To this end, TEC has created a District-wide Wellness Committee. Please check back frequently to see what the committee is working on, and how you can become part of Englewood TEC campus Schools' wellness initiatives.
